Job Summary
Seeking a forward-thinking Senior Accounting Manager - Insurance, the full-time remote position will oversee insurance accounting and reporting, manage financial close processes, and lead initiatives to enhance efficiency through technology and automation.
Key responsibilities
- Own monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes for assigned insurance entities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and income statement fluctuation analysis to ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards
- Lead accounting process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and accuracy in financial operations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the insurance industry
- Experience preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Familiarity with accounting software and proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Workday and Gain is a plus
- Experience using AI tools to improve or automate financial processes
