Job Summary
To enhance AI incident preparedness, the part-time contract Senior Advisor for AI Contingency Planning will develop contingency-planning approaches, translate technical risks into operational strategies, and assess existing response mechanisms, all while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and support contingency-planning approaches for high-impact incidents involving advanced AI systems
- Translate emerging technical risks into practical preparedness and response considerations
- Engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and technical fields on AI incident preparedness
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a relevant field such as International Relations, Public Policy, or Emergency Management
- At least 10 years of experience in contingency planning, crisis management, or national security planning
- Familiarity with artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, or AI safety
- Experience developing plans or response frameworks for complex scenarios
