Job Summary
To advance practical approaches for preventing and mitigating AI loss of control incidents, the part-time independent contractor Senior Advisor for AI Safety will provide strategic and technical guidance, lead research on AI risks, and engage with stakeholders in a fully remote capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and technical guidance on advanced AI risks and safeguards
- Lead research on emerging AI capabilities and potential loss-of-control scenarios
- Engage with researchers and stakeholders to support discussions and workshops on AI safety
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI Safety, or a related field
- At least five years of experience in red teaming, threat modeling, or technical AI governance
- Familiarity with AI loss-of-control research and related safeguards
- Proven track record of convening experts and producing technical or policy research
- Experience developing response frameworks for high-consequence situations
