Senior Advisor for AI Safety
Job Summary
To advance practical approaches for preventing and mitigating AI loss of control incidents, the contract-based Senior Advisor for AI Safety will provide strategic and technical guidance, lead research efforts, and engage with stakeholders while working remotely for approximately 20 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and technical guidance on advanced AI risks and incident prevention
- Lead research on emerging AI capabilities, risks, and potential loss-of-control scenarios
- Engage with multidisciplinary experts and translate technical research into actionable policy recommendations
Required Qualifications
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Computer Science, Machine Learning, AI Safety, or a related field
- At least five years of experience in red teaming, threat modeling, or technical AI governance
- Familiarity with AI loss-of-control research and related safeguards
- Experience convening experts and producing technical or policy research
- Demonstrated ability to develop response frameworks for high-consequence situations
