Senior Advocacy Communications Lead

Job Summary

Developing and implementing strategic communications plans, the full-time remote Senior Advocacy Communications Lead will promote the organization's policy statements and public policy priorities while collaborating with Advocacy and Marketing Communications staff to support advocacy campaigns across various channels.

Key responsibilities

• Develops and implements strategic communications plans for policy and scientific statement releases, including media relations and supporting materials
• Manages advocacy-related content on digital platforms and coordinates with the Grassroots team to align supporting content with issue action centers
• Provides strategic counsel and communications planning to support public policy campaigns at state and market levels

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, Public Policy, or equivalent work experience
• Five years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or journalism; eight years preferred
• Demonstrated experience with earned media strategy and outreach on public policy topics
• Working knowledge of public policy processes and how communications support policy campaigns
• Experience integrating communications and grassroots engagement strategies in public policy campaigns
