Senior AI Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of reliable AI capabilities, the full-time Senior AI Engineer will build production AI systems focused on model orchestration and decision-making processes, working remotely with the option to collaborate in-person at the Manhattan office.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement the decision layer for agent responses, determining the appropriate execution approach for various tasks
• Evaluate and select models based on measurable outcomes such as task success, quality, and latency to inform model-selection decisions
• Integrate models and APIs safely, ensuring compliance with authentication and authorization protocols while managing failure scenarios

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years with a Master's degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience
• 10+ years of professional experience in building, testing, and deploying production software, particularly AI or ML applications
• Strong proficiency in Python or TypeScript, including modern software engineering practices
• Practical experience with AI engineering, including LLM tool calling and workflow orchestration
• Ability to evaluate model performance based on task success, latency, reliability, and cost metrics
