Senior AI Kernel Engineer

Job Summary

Leading the design and optimization of high-performance kernels for large-scale AI inference, the full-time Senior AI Kernel Engineer will work remotely or in-person in Los Altos, CA, focusing on performance-critical paths and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance AI systems.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize performance-critical kernels for AI inference workloads
• Lead optimization efforts across single-GPU, multi-GPU, and heterogeneous hardware environments
• Analyze performance metrics and translate insights into actionable improvements

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in performance-critical systems or kernel development
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ and low-level programming
• Extensive hands-on experience with GPU kernel programming (CUDA, HIP, or equivalent)
• Deep understanding of GPU architecture and execution models
• Proven track record of delivering measurable performance improvements in production systems
