Senior Android Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support the App Experience and App Growth teams, the contract Senior Android Software Engineer will work remotely to deliver and enhance mobile Wikipedia product experiences, manage technical initiatives, and collaborate cross-functionally to optimize app performance for a global audience.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver medium complexity initiatives from technical discovery through to delivery, managing scope and identifying risks
- Lead system design for projects, improving mobile product experiences and ensuring accessibility and scalability
- Build software that is easy to test and observe, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to balance user needs and technical constraints
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 5-10+ years of experience in building Android applications
- Proficiency in Kotlin, XML, Jetpack Compose, and familiarity with Android architectural patterns
- Experience with Android performance optimization techniques for high-performing applications
- Ability to work in a self-driven, lean environment
