Senior API Engineer
Job Summary
Driving modernization and security for enterprise APIs, the full-time Senior API Engineer will work remotely to enhance Java-based repositories by implementing advanced authentication, authorization, and logging solutions.
Key responsibilities
- Assess and analyze existing Java repositories to plan modernization and security improvements
- Develop and secure REST APIs, implementing OAuth 2.0 and JWT roles, scopes, and claims
- Design and maintain automated unit, integration, and API security tests to ensure code quality
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years' experience in enterprise API/backend engineering
- Advanced skills with Java 17/21, Spring Boot 3.x, and Gradle
- Proven expertise in Spring Security, OAuth 2.0, and secure REST API development
- Strong proficiency with OpenAPI 3/Swagger and automated testing methodologies
