Job Summary
To develop and enhance an enterprise Semantic Layer for a federal client, the full-time Senior API Engineer will work remotely, focusing on designing secure, scalable APIs and integrating cloud-based services on AWS while collaborating with data architects and AI engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain secure APIs within the AWS API Gateway to support data access and analytics
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and governed access to enterprise information through the Semantic Layer
- Implement emerging AI integration patterns, including LLMs and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise data management
- Strong hands-on experience with Python, SQL, APIs, and serverless architectures
- Expertise in data modeling, metadata management, and AWS-based data platforms
- Experience implementing LLMs, RAG solutions, and AI evaluation methodologies
