Senior Application Security Engineer

Job Summary

Owning the security partnership with product engineering areas, the full-time Senior Application Security Engineer will lead high-impact security initiatives, conduct threat models and code reviews, and serve as a subject matter expert in application security, all while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the identification and elimination of application security vulnerabilities by designing scalable solutions
• Run threat models, design reviews, and code reviews for complex systems, ensuring security requirements are met from design to launch
• Mentor and coach other security engineers while fostering a culture of security awareness among software engineers

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in application security or a similar field
• Deep understanding of web and mobile application security, including common vulnerabilities and secure development practices
• Hands-on software development experience with languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, and Swift
• Experience leading security initiatives across multiple teams, focusing on measurable risk reduction
• Strong communication and leadership skills, particularly in educating engineers on security practices
