Senior Application Security Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely, the full-time Senior Application Security Engineer will lead initiatives to enhance security in application development processes, conduct penetration testing, and collaborate closely with software developers to promote secure coding practices.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and mature the vulnerability management program while conducting internal penetration testing and code reviews
- Develop and maintain threat models for various software projects, leveraging AI to automate workflows
- Advise software development teams on secure coding practices and assist with vulnerability remediation
Required qualifications
- 3-5 years of scripting and development experience, preferably with web applications
- 2-3 years of cloud engineering experience, with an emphasis on AWS and Infrastructure as Code
- Familiarity with security best practices and standards such as OWASP and NIST
- Experience with AI tools and automation in security processes
- Demonstrated ability to assess and prioritize technical risks effectively
