Senior Application Security Manager

Job Summary

Supporting the transition of the State's secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) to a sustained operating program, the remote contract Senior Application Security Manager will coordinate workflows, manage application security practices, and drive continuous improvement across technology teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate the transition from project deliverables to owned processes, ensuring clear ownership and documented workflows
• Work with teams to validate and enhance the application risk profile, security requirements, and remediation workflows
• Facilitate working groups and maintain accurate responsibility models while tracking progress and reporting on application security metrics

Required qualifications

• Substantial experience managing complex technology, cybersecurity, or application security programs
• Working knowledge of software delivery and application security concepts, including vulnerability management and risk treatment
• Ability to translate technical issues into actionable plans and effective management reporting
• Experience establishing repeatable processes and managing competing priorities in an evolving program
• Experience operationalizing Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices across multiple teams
