Senior Application Support Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Senior Application Support Engineer to perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical issues, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
- Document problems and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Perform maintenance and installation of computing infrastructure while implementing continuous improvement methodologies
Required qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
