Senior Application Support Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Application/Infrastructure Support Engineer will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operational support, including detecting and resolving system outages
- Document problems and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Perform maintenance and installation of computing infrastructure, ensuring compliance with security policies
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud, including S3, Step Functions, and CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
