Senior Application Support Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Application/Infrastructure Support Engineer will perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of application cloud systems and resolve outages or problems
- Document issues in logging tools and communicate status updates to users and management
- Perform maintenance and installation of computing infrastructure while implementing continuous improvement methodologies
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
