Senior Application Support Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Application Support Engineer will perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
- Document problems accurately and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Perform maintenance and installation of computing infrastructure while implementing continuous improvement methodologies
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Strong proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, especially S3 and CloudWatch
- Experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
