Senior Application Support Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Application/Infrastructure Support Engineer will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies while managing system outages and user support.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance for cloud-based applications and infrastructure
- Detect, isolate, document, and resolve system outages, ensuring rapid recovery and communication with users and management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain compliance with Veterans Affairs standards and security policies
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
