Senior Application Support Engineer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs operations, the full-time Senior Application Support Engineer will manage day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational support for application cloud systems and resolve system outages
- Document problems accurately and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services and strong experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
