Senior Application Support Engineer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs operations, the full-time Senior Application Support Engineer will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, manage system outages, and ensure compliance with security policies in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including diagnosing and resolving outages
- Document issues and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with VA standards and security protocols
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with experience in system administration tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and configuration management
