Senior Application Support Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Application Support Engineer will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance for large-scale production systems
- Detect, document, and resolve system outages, ensuring rapid recovery and communication with users and management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain documentation for system configurations and processes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet and knowledge of cloud-native technologies
