Senior Application Support Engineer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Application/Infrastructure Support Engineer will perform high-level operational support for complex cloud systems, develop technical solutions, and ensure compliance with security policies while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
- Document issues and maintain system asset inventory while communicating with users and senior management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and perform maintenance on computing infrastructure
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
