Job Summary
To support the IRS Business Tax Account modernization initiative, the remote Senior Back-End Developer will lead the design and development of secure, scalable server-side applications and APIs, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with IRS standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the development of secure back-end services, RESTful APIs, and microservices for IRS digital platforms
- Implement cloud-native application best practices in an AWS and Kubernetes environment, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate user stories into functional back-end features and support CI/CD processes
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in any field
- 6+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a developer role
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments and familiarity with IRS cloud environments and security standards
- AWS Certified Developer - Associate or equivalent cloud certification (preferred)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust background investigation
