Senior Backend Developer

Job Summary

To support a major US insurance provider, the remote Senior Backend Developer will design and deliver high-performance Python APIs on Microsoft Azure, manage services end to end, and integrate AI capabilities while ensuring reliability and observability in production.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, high-performance REST APIs and backend services using Python and FastAPI
• Build and maintain MCP servers to expose enterprise data and tools to AI agents and LLM-based applications
• Implement monitoring and observability practices, including structured logging and alerting

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of professional backend development experience with a strong focus on Python
• Solid experience building production REST APIs with FastAPI, including async programming and API versioning
• Practical experience with Microsoft Azure, including AKS and Azure Cosmos DB
• Hands-on experience with Docker and deploying containerized applications to Kubernetes
• Upper-Intermediate (B2) or higher English proficiency for communication with US-based stakeholders
