Job Summary
Owning the backend systems for Hal Leonard Connect, the full-time Senior Backend Developer will manage the PHP/Yii2 and MySQL infrastructure, build integrations, and enhance tools for external partners while working remotely or from Cyprus.
Key responsibilities
- Manage the Hal Leonard Connect backend, including the Catalog and Purchase API, vendor dashboard, and monitoring systems
- Oversee integrations with Hal Leonard AS400, Perfion, and Stripe, ensuring data quality and multi-currency order processing
- Act as the technical contact for Hal Leonard staff and external vendors, providing onboarding support and representing engineering in various meetings
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of backend development experience in PHP (Yii2) with MySQL in a production environment
- Proven experience designing and operating a public REST API for external developers
- Experience with third-party and legacy system integrations, including ERP/PIM and payment systems like Stripe
- Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes and monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
- Strong SQL skills and experience building dashboards for data analysis
