Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to take ownership of production backend systems in a fully remote, full-time role, focusing on integrating and evolving new products while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver features through rapid development cycles.
Key responsibilities:
- Architect and scale backend systems, design APIs, and improve observability and performance
- Collaborate with product, design, and frontend teams to ship features and participate in system design reviews
- Identify and address reliability, security, and performance risks while maintaining production systems
Required qualifications:
- 6+ years of backend engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior-level role
- Strong production experience with Ruby on Rails and PostgreSQL
- Proven ability to take ownership of existing production systems and debug complex issues
- Experience with API design, distributed systems, and integrating third-party services
- Familiarity with modern AI coding tools and a strong production ownership mindset
