Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Vertical Experiences team, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer II will design, build, and maintain cloud services for Life360's connected devices, working remotely to deliver scalable systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain backend services for device connectivity and telemetry ingest
- Collaborate with firmware, mobile, and product teams to define APIs and workflows for device features
- Orchestrate AI coding agents for tasks such as spec writing, code generation, and system design
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience building backend services in Java, Go, Python, or similar languages
- Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful API design
- Strong skills with AWS cloud infrastructure and container orchestration
- Hands-on experience with AI coding tools in a professional setting
