Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Joining a remote team, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will design and operate payment services, manage processor integrations, and ensure the reliability of financial transactions within a hands-on, AI-assisted engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate services for card processing, refunds, and payment reconciliation
- Own processor integrations and ensure safe payment pipeline construction
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance billing and payments features
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building production backend systems
- 2+ years of experience with payment systems, including card processing and reconciliation
- Strong proficiency in Spring Boot (Java and/or Kotlin) and relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
- Working knowledge of payment processing patterns and PCI DSS standards
- Experience in Agile/Scrum environments with strong Git/GitHub workflow experience
