Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Focused on building core backend services and distributed systems, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will take vague problem statements to production, designing and deploying reliable APIs and data pipelines while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Prototype and deploy backend services and APIs in Python for the core platform
- Design and scale distributed systems to ensure reliability and performance as data and user volume increase
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customer value and build necessary frontend components using React
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in shipping production backend services with strong Python skills
- Proven experience in building and scaling distributed architectures in production environments
- Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous problems from concept to deployed product
- Experience with data-heavy systems and cloud-native services, preferably on AWS
- Frontend experience, ideally with React, to complete feature development
