Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Leading complex, multi-team projects, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will drive architectural decisions and tackle technical challenges within the payments platform while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Golang microservices
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and frontend teams to deliver high-impact features
- Participate in system design reviews and mentor peers and junior engineers on best practices
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience with modern programming languages such as Golang, Java, Python, Ruby, or C#
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and backend services
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and inter-service communication
- Experience working with relational databases and SQL
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and take responsibility for production systems
