Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
Passionate about building reliable and scalable backend systems, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs in a remote environment, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code with comprehensive unit and integration test coverage
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production systems, participating in incident response and post-mortems
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial backend development experience
- Strong proficiency in Go, including idiomatic code and concurrency patterns
- Solid understanding of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL or MySQL
- Experience designing and implementing REST APIs and documenting them with OpenAPI/Swagger
- Understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems trade-offs
