Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To develop and maintain the Payroll product, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will design scalable back-end systems, collaborate with product teams, and manage the full development cycle in a remote role for candidates located in the Eastern Time Zone.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end systems using a modern microservices architecture
• Collaborate with product managers and front-end engineers to implement new features aligned with the product roadmap
• Take ownership of the full development cycle, including technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and monitoring

Required qualifications

• 6+ years of professional experience in software engineering with a strong emphasis on backend development
• Hands-on experience using AI coding tools for developing, testing, and debugging backend software
• Experience building customer-facing SaaS products from inception to launch
• Proficiency in relational databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL
• Excellent knowledge of software design and scalable architecture
