Senior Backend Engineer
Job Summary
To support a growing engineering team, the full-time Senior Backend Engineer will optimize the ingestion pipeline, enhance ClickHouse performance, and build infrastructure-heavy features in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Own and optimize the ingestion pipeline for massive volumes of tracing data, focusing on throughput, latency, reliability, and cost efficiency
- Design schemas and optimize queries in ClickHouse to ensure fast data retrieval for dashboards and user interfaces
- Develop new infrastructure-heavy features and conduct load tests to validate performance improvements using production data
Required qualifications
- Strong backend engineering experience with a focus on database internals, query optimization, and distributed systems
- Experience with analytical databases, data pipelines, or high-throughput event processing; familiarity with ClickHouse is a plus
- Proficiency in TypeScript and SQL
- CS or quantitative degree preferred
- Interest in open source software and user engagement regarding scaling challenges
