Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of a new abstraction layer for banking applications, the remote Senior Backend Engineer will focus on designing and building Go services for data transformation, collaborating with engineers to define extraction points, and maintaining access layers for safe data consumption.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build Go services that transform data from the core banking system into a consistent model for downstream applications
• Collaborate with the Profile engineer and data engineers to define clean extraction points from the core banking system
• Build and maintain access layers (APIs and/or event streams) to enable integration with data without direct interaction with the core

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience, primarily using Go
• Experience building integration or abstraction layers between legacy systems and modern applications
• Familiarity with transactional systems and/or payments
• Experience with event-driven architectures, such as Kafka and CDC pipelines
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in technology, with specialized training for any missing college years
