Senior Backend Engineer

Job Summary

To support the development of AI-driven integrations within a telemedicine platform, the full-time Senior Backend (NodeJS) Engineer will design and scale backend systems that enhance patient and provider interactions while working remotely in the EU.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build backend architecture for AI-powered automation systems, focusing on performance and scalability
• Integrate LLM-based product features in collaboration with AI engineers and product teams
• Develop robust APIs for internal services and external integrations while ensuring strong observability and monitoring practices

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of commercial backend development experience with Node.js in product companies, preferably SaaS
• Strong experience in designing backend architectures and technical solutions with a focus on scalability and maintainability
• Proven track record of building scalable backend systems and robust APIs, with a solid understanding of data flows and performance bottlenecks
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production systems with a focus on reliability and measurable quality improvements
• Practical experience with PostgreSQL and AWS services such as CDK and Lambda
