Job Summary
Leading the development of a cutting-edge anti-ransomware platform, the remote Senior Backend Engineer will focus on building and evolving data platform and API services using Scala and Rust, while also enhancing a Python-based security analysis platform.
Key responsibilities
- Design and deliver features for the data platform and public API services, including security data processing
- Drive system design and architecture decisions in collaboration with product and platform engineering teams
- Build and maintain reliable Scala-based backend services, while overseeing the migration of selected APIs to Rust
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of backend engineering experience, particularly in JVM-based codebases
- Proven track record of designing and managing distributed systems
- Experience with Rust and familiarity with its application in migration projects
- Strong understanding of APIs, messaging systems (Kafka), and modern data stores (Postgres, DynamoDB, OpenSearch)
- Experience in a cloud-native environment, preferably AWS
