Senior Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support the development of AI-driven learning experiences, the remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will design, develop, and operate scalable backend services using TypeScript and Go, while managing the full service lifecycle and collaborating across teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs, ensuring production readiness and operational health
- Build and maintain distributed systems and microservices, focusing on event-driven architectures and AWS infrastructure
- Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate shared services and improve system reliability through observability and automated testing
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of professional software development experience, particularly with backend services in TypeScript and Go
- Strong experience with microservices, distributed systems, and designing GraphQL and REST APIs
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and Kubernetes, preferably Amazon EKS
- Proficient in data modeling and databases such as MySQL/Aurora, DynamoDB, and Redis
