Senior Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support a mission-driven team, the full-time Senior Backend Software Engineer will design and build backend services in TypeScript for real-time risk decisioning, while working remotely and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services and event-driven workflows for risk decisioning
- Own end-to-end delivery of small to medium-sized projects, from design through production
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to other engineers on the team
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of experience in software development, particularly with event-driven architecture
- Hands-on experience with cloud task/job scheduling systems and designing state machines
- Proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript (Node.js) or similar languages like Java, Python, C/C++, or Go
- Experience with MySQL and Google Cloud Platform
