Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

To enhance the performance of high-volume document management systems, the remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will design and implement efficient database solutions using Elixir/Phoenix, optimize existing code, and collaborate with a distributed team to ensure reliable service delivery.

Key responsibilities:

• Execute the design and implementation of high-performance Elixir/Phoenix-based systems, focusing on efficient database usage
• Identify and resolve database bottlenecks by profiling query patterns and optimizing data access
• Collaborate with a remote engineering team to ship features and improve system reliability

Required qualifications:

• Experience in backend services and distributed systems
• Deep, hands-on PostgreSQL experience in production, including data modeling and query optimization
• Proven track record of optimizing applications for efficient database usage
• Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably AWS, and containerized deployments
• Strong coding skills, with a willingness to learn Elixir
