Senior Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
To support the development of predictive sports analytics data products, the fully remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will take technical ownership of core backend systems, design high-traffic APIs and microservices, and drive improvements in performance and scalability.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for core backend products, guiding work from design through implementation and production operation
- Design and improve client-facing APIs and microservices, focusing on latency, availability, and correctness
- Identify performance bottlenecks and deliver improvements supported by production measurements
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of production software engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership
- Hands-on production experience with Node.js and Python
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases
- Strong understanding of high-traffic APIs and distributed services
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
