Senior Backend Software Engineer
Job Summary
Leading a team of engineers, the full-time remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will own and deliver quarterly goals, collaborate with stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle, and proactively identify and solve technical and business issues related to data infrastructure.
Key responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly goals for the engineering team while guiding members through complex problem-solving
- Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics to support the product development lifecycle and articulate technical constraints
- Foster a culture of quality and ownership by improving code review and design standards and mentoring team members
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
- Proven track record in developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- Experience with scaling technologies such as Iceberg, Flink, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, and Terraform
- Ability to define technical plans for significant features or system components with a focus on elegant and extensible design
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
