Senior Backend Software Engineer

Job Summary

Owning and delivering quarterly goals, the remote Senior Backend Software Engineer will lead a team in developing high-availability and low-latency systems for consumer onboarding and authentication, while collaborating with product management and fostering a culture of quality and ownership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineers through ambiguity to solve open-ended problems and ensure team support throughout delivery
• Collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during the product development lifecycle to articulate technical constraints and make informed decisions
• Proactively identify and advocate for solutions to project, process, technology, or business issues

Required qualifications

• 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale using languages like Python or Kotlin
• Proven track record in developing highly available distributed systems using technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
• Experience defining technical plans for significant features or system components with a focus on elegant and extensible design
• Ability to make significant changes in a large codebase, with developed tools and practices for safe implementation
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
