Senior Ballistic Armor Engineer

Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Senior Ballistic Armor Acquisition & Test Engineer SME to manage the lifecycle development, testing, qualification, and sustainment of ATAE body armor and personal protective systems while working remotely and requiring an active Secret clearance.

Key responsibilities:

• Analyze and evaluate ballistic test plans and protocols against DoD specifications and military standards
• Witness First Article Testing (FAT) and Lot Acceptance Testing (LAT) at test facilities and review test results
• Lead technical investigations for any ballistic or environmental non-conformances and coordinate corrective actions

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Textile Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, with 7+ years of relevant experience
• Proven background in ballistic testing methodologies and performance standards for soft and hard armor systems
• Experience witnessing and evaluating FAT/LAT ballistic test events at certified testing facilities
• Proven track record in technical writing, including military Purchase Descriptions and technical manuals
• Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain an active Secret clearance
