Senior Business Systems Analyst
Job Summary
To support a Department of the Interior modernization program, the full-time Senior Business Systems Analyst will lead requirements gathering and analysis for workforce, policy, and service-delivery processes or data, integration, and financial-integrity workflows, working remotely with occasional travel.
Key responsibilities
- Lead requirements and analysis for assigned modernization initiatives, including stakeholder discovery and process review
- Use Python and SQL to investigate operational data, validate business rules, and support user acceptance testing
- Translate current-state workflows into clear future-state requirements for software, automation, and AI-enabled solutions
Required qualifications
- 5+ years of relevant business analysis, business transformation, or systems analysis experience; bachelor's degree preferred
- Hands-on experience using Python for data preparation and SQL for querying and validating data
- Experience leading requirements for software or digital modernization work, including user stories and acceptance criteria
- Experience analyzing business processes and coordinating user acceptance testing with stakeholders
- Ability to successfully complete background investigation and system-access requirements for a Moderate Risk Public Trust position
