Senior Category Manager

Job Summary

Driving category strategy and product performance, the full-time Senior Category Manager will manage high-volume book categories for School Reading Events, focusing on strategic development, merchandising, and vendor relationships while working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage category strategies to drive sales, profitability, and inventory productivity within the Scholastic Dollars Catalog and Classroom Collections
• Lead the development and acquisition of customer-focused product assortments, analyzing market trends and customer insights
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with publishers and vendors, negotiating terms to optimize financial performance

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management or a comparable role
• Demonstrated success in identifying and leveraging category trends to inform product strategies
• Experience in publishing, children's toys, children's media, or educational products preferred
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage cross-functional initiatives
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
