Senior Characterization Analyst

Job Summary

Providing leadership for the acquisition and analysis of material characterization data, the full-time Senior Characterization Analyst will oversee data governance, establish national standards for data quality, and support organizational reporting and strategic planning in a remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and continuous improvement of processes for waste characterization data intake and integration
• Oversee the establishment of national sort category frameworks and ensure alignment with state-specific reporting requirements
• Direct the development of analytical methodologies and reporting deliverables to support internal stakeholders and programmatic decision-making

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in a relevant field preferred
• 7-10 years of experience in waste characterization, environmental data analysis, or related fields
• Advanced proficiency in Python and/or R for data management and analysis
• Experience implementing data governance and QA/QC practices for large datasets
• Strong knowledge of waste characterization methodologies and performance metric development
