Senior Claims Advocate

Job Summary

Analyzing and evaluating complex claims, the full-time remote Senior Claims Advocate will determine the final decision on various claim types while assisting in the development of less experienced staff and representing the company in litigated claims.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate and settle claims for Life Insurance, Contestable, Accidental Death, and other complex types based on thorough assessments
• Consult with internal and external stakeholders, including claims consultants and medical directors, to ensure compliance with guidelines
• Assist in training and developing junior claims staff while acting as a representative for litigated claims

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, medical certification, or equivalent work experience
• FLHC Designation required within 24 months of starting position
• Minimum 7 years of experience in Life/Health/Auto Insurance Claims preferred
• Knowledge of life insurance underwriting and understanding of medical conditions and legal aspects related to claims
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel
