Senior Cloud Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Cloud Engineer will design, develop, and manage cloud infrastructure and automation technologies while ensuring compliance and optimal performance in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Create and manage cloud architecture diagrams and automation technologies for CI/CD
- Implement monitoring capabilities and manage permissions for cloud applications and services
- Provide customer-focused support for VA Enterprise Cloud environments and ensure compliance with VA/Federal policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- 20+ years of professional experience in cloud infrastructure and services, particularly with Azure
- Proven track record in designing and managing large-scale, high-availability cloud architecture
- Experience with Azure security practices and services, including Microsoft Entra ID and Azure Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
- Strong understanding of cloud cost management, FinOps practices, and resource optimization using Azure Cost Management
