Senior Cloud Platform Engineer

Job Summary

Setting the multi-year technical strategy for Infrastructure Services, the full-time Senior Staff Cloud Platform Engineer will define architecture and standards, ensure cohesive evolution of compute, network, and stateful platforms, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Define and oversee the technical strategy and architecture for Infrastructure Services, guiding investment decisions and standards
• Serve as the senior technical voice for infrastructure, representing the team in cross-organization reviews and driving improvements in incident management and reliability
• Mentor and develop engineering talent, raising the bar on design reviews and engineering practices across teams

Required qualifications

• Proven experience setting technical direction across multiple teams with measurable outcomes
• Extensive knowledge and operational experience with Kubernetes in production-scale environments
• Demonstrated ability to define and implement reliability standards, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets
• Experience in reducing cloud costs through engineering solutions and collaboration with finance
• Proficiency in programming (e.g., Go) and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform) for automating operational workflows
