Senior Cloud Security Engineer

Job Summary

To support a growing team, the full-time Senior Cloud Security Engineer will design, implement, and maintain security controls for applications and corporate systems in a remote environment, focusing on AWS cloud security and compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and HITRUST.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build enterprise-grade security controls using AWS services to protect PHI across cloud environments
• Develop and maintain secure multi-account AWS architecture and enforce compliance through policy-as-code tools
• Lead incident response efforts for cloud security incidents and provide mentorship to fellow security engineers

Required qualifications

• 5 to 7 years of experience in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years focused on AWS compliance-driven engineering
• Deep knowledge of AWS services relevant to PHI management, including VPC, IAM, and EC2
• Hands-on experience with Linux system security and hardening
• Strong understanding of HIPAA, HITRUST, and SOC 2 frameworks
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent practical experience
